INAUGURAL CEREMONY & WELCOME COCKTAIL

Inaugural Ceremony will be held in the main Congress Hall (2 800 persons) of the PCC and will be followed by the Welcome Cocktail in the exhibition area providing a wonderful view almost of the whole Prague.
PERFORMERS:
Children traditional ensemble Rosénka (cimbalom music with folk dancers)
This children folk ensemble has been established in 1982. The repertory comes out of the nursery rhymes, games, songs and dances from Moravian areas Dolňácko (near Uherské Hradiště) and Slovácko. The original group of 35 members has spread to 130 children and young people in the age of 5 to 25 years. They are divided to the six independent groups and two folk music ensembles. At the present time Rosénka decorates most of the prestigious folk and other cultural events and belongs to the absolute top of folk ensembles in the Czech Republic. This is proved by many prizes from both inland and foreign festivals.

PERFORMERS:
Prague Philharmonia
The Prague Philharmonia was founded in 1994. Its fundamental instrumentation is based on the Viennese classical orchestra, which can be augmented and altered according to the repertoire needs. The orchestra's repertoire focuses on masterpieces of the Classical and Romantic periods as well as music of the twentieth century, including works by neglected composers, rarely-played pieces, and new works by contemporary composers.
From the outset, the Prague Philharmonia's Chief Conductor has been its founder Jiří Bělohlávek. From 2005/06 season a position of Chief Conductor was overtaken by Kaspar Zehnder. The Prague Philharmonia continues to collaborate with Principal Guest Conductor Michel Swierczewski and young Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša.
In April 2005, the Prague Philharmonia was a partner to Luciano Pavarotti on his farewell concert in Prague.

On Wednesday, August 23 the participants are invited to the Industrial Palace, where the Farewell Dinner will be held. The palace, built in 1891 in late 19th-century decorative style, is located in a northern part of the city, in the area of Prague Exhibition Grounds.
The whole program will evoke the period between two world wars, hot, cold buffet and drinks will be available. Transportation will not be provided.

Havelka Sisters and Havelka Sisters Band
Havelka Sisters & Havelka Sisters Band is an ensemble of twelve enthusiastic musicians who have all succumbed to early swings. For many years, they have been walking their audiences through the period between the wars, a period filled with rhythm, dance, inspiration, pure ideals, and romantic loves and dreams. The ensemble is composed of a ladies' vocal quartet - Dana Šimíčková, Petra Kohoutová, Olga Bímova, and Anna Vávrová, and an eight-member orchestra: piano, tenor saxophone, alt saxophone, trumpet, violinophone, guitar, percussion, and bass.
