BEST REGARDS FROM PRAGUE
Dear participants of the GA IAU in Prague,
we would like to thank you for your participation in the 26th General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union. It was our great pleasure to host you in Prague. Your presence contributed to the success of the conference, which was in our opinion an exiting and productive event, well regarded by a broad international audience.
We would like to share with you our feeling of a success and an impression that the positive aspects dominated all the conference. The friendly atmosphere helped in our discussions on new discoveries, new concepts and new principles of astronomy and astrophysics. The working spirit was in our opinion quite typical in Prague and it would be rather difficult to list all progresses achieved at the GA.
The planet definition process was a lively procedure. We did admire the way how it was conducted and the brave formulation of a compromise, which was reached in the end. Obviously, the resulting resolution is not completely perfect, but it exists and this is an important fact.
We also would like to mention the publicity of the GA, which was world-wide, and we believe that it will help in propagation astronomy and astrophysics in general.
We hope that you are safely back home. We would like to keep your attention even in the post-26th GA IAU period, when we need to write reports, papers and record all the scientific and other results. This period will continuously transform to another one: preparation of the 27th GA IAU in Rio de Janeiro.
Thank you very much again for coming to Prague and let us keep our contacts operational.
